IGP reviews Islamabad`s Safe City system

ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi held a meeting with Safe City officers to review the ongoing measures taken for improvement of the Safe City system.

According to public relations officer, the meeting was held at the Safe City Islamabad and attended by senior police officers, IT and technical teams.

During the meeting, the inspector general of police assessed the performance of the virtual police station, the women safety app and other ongoing projects.

He assigned the technical staff tasks to upgrade the software used in Safe City, develop new software and handle other tasks.

He said that the number of cameras equipped with artificial intelligence capabilities should be increased, Safe City data protection should be ensured and capacity of the Islamabad police`s Cyber Crime Wing should be enhanced.

Meanwhile, following the directives of the inspector general of police, DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza met with volunteers and scouts who will perform duties during Muharram processions and majalis.

On this occasion, the DIG Islamabad said all participants should play their role in maintaining security and peace during the month of Muharram and adhere to punctuality.

He asserted that any kind of negligence or carelessness in security arrangements would not be tolerated. Staff Reporter
