SWABI: Two people were killed and three others, including a woman, injured in a clash during a jirga held to settle a family dispute in Asmalia village near here on Sunday.
Police said the jirga was under way in a hujra when members of rival parties after exchanging hot words openedñre on eachother.
According to sources, a man had a dispute with his maternal uncle for the past four months.
Their relatives had been trying for a few days to resolve their issues. They had held the jirga and invited the family elders to settle the dispute.
The dispute was said to be over a woman.
The two men killed in the clash were the uncle and the nephew. Their identity could not be ascertained.
The injured were taken to the Bacha Khan Medical Complex, Shahmansoor.
