Fazl assures PML-N of support for PM`s election

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman announced on Monday unconditional support for Shahid Khagan Abbasi, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate for the post of the prime minister, and said he would stand by his ally in this hour of dif ficulty.Talking to journalists after the parliamentary party meeting of his party, he said JUI-F MNAs would vote for Mr Abbasi in the election.

Replying to a question if he wanted more ministries in the federal government, Maulana Fazl said that according to his information there would be no change in the federal cabinet.

When asked whether he believed that Articles 62 and 63 of theConstitution should be repealed, the Maulana said Articles 62, 63 and NationalAccountabilityBureau(NAB) had been introduced by military dictators, but NAB was a bigger threat than Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution.

Criticising Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan, the JUI-F chief claimed that Mr Khan was using the cover of corruption for a political war.

`Unfortunately, the word corrup-tion is being used for defaming political opponents, but I am not scared of such personalities as I am doing politics of ideology and has always challenged the feudal system,` he said.

In reply to a question about AJK Prime Minister Farooq Haider`s statement about accession of Kashmir to India, he said that though he was not aware of such a statement, all political parties of Kashmir had mentioned intheir manifestos that Kashmir should be made part of Pakistan. `The government of Pakistan`s view is clear about it. We say that the Kashmir dispute should be addressed in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations,` he said.

`We need to understand international conspiracies and unite, otherwise the country will face a huge loss. There is a great game going on to destabiliseMuslim countries and there is a need to look into it seriously,` Maulana Fazl said.

He said that he had called the provincial leadership of his party from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to discuss an inhouse change in KP.

In reply to a question about Dr Tahirul Qadri, who is due to arrive in the country in the current month, he said Dr Qadri was a great person and he should come to the country.
