SINCE the University of Karachi resumed classes af ter the summer vacation the students have been f acing problems in entering as well as commuting on the campus, because of the ban on rickshaws and the entrance of cars through gate Nos 2 and3.
No notice was issued beforehand and the people now joining the university have to make passes for their cars at double cost, af ter some quarrels and threats by the campus police.
Before banning rickshaws on the campus as vast as 1,279 acres the students must be given an alternative. If all this is a security measure, then there should be other measures.
