Fewer hospitals

2017-08-01
LAST week I went to the Bacha Khan Medical Complex, Mardan. The doctor advised my father to have an operation for a throat problem. The hospital management gave him the date af ter eight months. This shocked me. How can a patient wait for such a long time to suffer? A clerk told me the reason was the growing number of patients and fewer doctors. Even emergency cases are not handled in time.

Every day only 10 to 12 operations are done, including only one to two patients suf fering f rom the throat problem.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should provide health f acilities as an essential obligation of its government.
