LAHORE: The Election Commission of Pakistan has begun making preparations for holding local body polls in Punjab and for the purpose has convened a consultative meeting on Wednesday (tomorrow).
An official of the ECP says that the meeting is being held to finalise the election schedule for the local body polls.
The official says that Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Inspector-General of Police Dr Usman Anwer and the local government secretary have been sent a letter for the purpose.
The official says that the ECP has completed the demarcation of constituencies under the Local Government Act 2022.
