Fake PFA team arrested for swindling eateries

LAHORE:A gang posing as a team of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA), including a woman impersonating PFA director Ayesha Mumtaz, was caught red handed by Nishter Town police on Monday while it was swindling eateries in the area.

Police said they received complaints from the owners of various eateries that a four-member team, led by a woman, claiming to be PFA director Ayesha Mumtaz, was raiding their food outlets and blackmailing them.

They also reported that the team used to flee after getting cash from them.

Police caught the swindlers red handed when they were swindling the eateries.

All members of the gang, including ringleader Naheed Akhtar, were arrested. The other three were identified as Ejaz, Naeem and Jameel.

Police recovered PFA cards, video cameras, Rs7,500 and a van from them.-Reporter
