MUZAFFAR ABAD: A rally was staged here on Monday to condemn Indian shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and working boundary in Sialkot.

The rally was held under the aegis of Women Parliamentary Caucus, headed by AJK Legislative Assembly deputy speaker Shaheen Kousar Dar.

Participants, who included women, men and schoolchildren, were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans condemning Indian aggression along the dividing line, which has left scores of civilians dead and wounded.

`Down with India`s bellicose jingoism,` read one of the banners.

They also raised slogans as they paraded through the main thoroughfare from Press Club to Garhi Pan Chowk.

`India has let loose a reign of terror not only inside the occupied territory but also along the Line of Control and working boundary,` said Ms Dar on the occasion.

She called upon the international community to take stock of frequent ceasefire violations by India `lest it might plunge the region into a devastating war`.

The deputy speaker also paid tributes to the border area residents for their valour in the face of naked aggression by the enemy.
