THE Privatisation Commission would like to clarify some points in your report, `Tariff increase for Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) sought`(Sept 22) The report refers to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra)`s hearing of the pre-privatisation multi-year tariff for the Fesco. The report says Nepra Chairman Tariq Sadozai expressed concern about representatives from the Privatisation Commission not attending the hearing.
The fact is is that Mr Shahid Raza, Senior Consultant Privatisation Commission, was present at the hearing along with representatives from the Financial Advisor (FA) Consortium hired for this specific transaction. During the meeting, the FAs made a presentation to Nepra and both Mr Raza and the FAs responded to Nepra`s queries related to the petition and the presentation.
Any statement which may have been made by the chairman was not related to any member of the privatisation commission.
