KARACHI is still rife with every sort of crime whether it be targeted killing, smuggling, robbery or kidnapping for ransom. Pickpocketing is no exception.
I went to Karachi from Jamshoro to celebrate Eid-ulAzha with my family and I enjoyed a lot with my siblings.
On the day of my return, I boarded a local shuttle at Bilal Chowrangi to reach Saddar to get on a van bound for Jamshoro. After a short time when I put my hand into my pocket to pay the fare, I found my side pocl(et cleaned off Rs4,000 and the student card gone.
At once I reported to the Rangers Helpline on #1101 and got an automated sms assuring me that my identity will be kept confidential. I then called police Helpline #15 and was told the police dealt with robbery cases only. It is a pity many students like me are robbed under the nose of law-enforcers.
