Where are CNG buses?

2015-10-01
THE transport department was directed by the Sindh chief minister in September 2014 to bring the remaining 32 CNG buses for the newly launched route of Gulshan-i-Hadeed to Merewether Tower.

The people concerned could have fulfilled within two months the commitment made by the CM. After a lapse of about one year it was said that 26 CNG buses would run on Surjani Town to Merewether Tower route, but unfortunately only two buses were reportedly running on the first day and now only six buses are doing the job.

Since the demand for the bus service is increasing, the remaining buses should be repaired and refurbished at the earliest so that other routes, such as Korangi-toSurjani Town and Khokhrapar-Malir-toOrangi Town, are made plausible. More than 200 CNG buses are needed immediately.

This is a drop in the ocean, as people wait for 50 to 60 minutes for a bus to reach their destinations. What a cruel joke with Karachities who are already suffering with the ban on gingqi rickshaws etc.
