KARACHl: A young man shot himself dead during a Rangers raid in Old Golimar on Wednesday, police said.

The paramilitary force conducted a targeted raid in Old Golimar during which a suspect, said to be around 20 years old, ran apparently to escape arrest and took shelter in a Paria Mohalla house, said Pak Colony SHO Irfan Afridi.

There he shot himself in the head with his 30-bore pistol and died on the spot, added the officer. His identity could not be ascertained immediately.

The owner of the home, Elahi Bakhsh, told the police that the man had committed suicide. Investigators found a spent bullet casing in the house.
