KH AR: Relatives of the several fallen personnel of Bajaur Levies have complained about the `denial` of employment in the force despite the political administration`s commitment.
They insisted that the administration had announced several years ago that at least one member of all families of the Levies personnel killed in the war against terrorism would be recruited in the force, but ironically, no action had been takeninthatrespect.
Ahmad Shah of Nawagai tehsil told Dawn that his brother, Alchtar Shah, had died in a roadside bomb blast in 2007 during a search operation prompting the administration officials to promise recruitment of one of his family members in the Levies Force but the promise had yet to be fulfilled.
Ihsanullah Khan of Salarzai tehsil said a bomb blast had killed his elder brother and Levies Force solider, Amanullah Khan, in 2014 when he was on patrol during a polio campaign.
He said the political agent later promised a member of the deceased`s family the sepoy`s jobin the Levies Force but didn`t fulfil it.
He also said his repeated visits to the relevant officials remained futile.
Akbar Khan of Utmankhel area said his elder brother and Levies Force constable, Nawabzada Khan, had died in the line of duty in Damadola area during a militant attack on an anti-polio team few years ago but the political administration had yet to give a member of his family job in the force.
Families of other fallen soldiers also said they were distressed by the denial of jobs to their members.
They said they would use all possible ways and means to claim their `right`. An of ficial of the local administration confirmed that the complaint of the families of fallen Levies personnel was justified.
He said members of few such families had been recruited in the Levies Force during the last several years.
The official claimed that most of the personnel recruited in few years were influential people. He said 75 Levies personnel had died in the line of duty since 2006. Correspondent
