LAKKI MARWAT: The local government representatives and tehsil municipal administration officials have locked horns over the ownership of an office building of the neighbourhood council (NC), Lakl(i-II.
The building was constructed on the premises of Tanchi compound owned by Lakki TMA in 2001 to use it as of fice of Lakki City-1 union council. It remained in use of local government and rural development department since then.
After 2015 local government elections, the building was handed over to the representatives of NC-II to use it as office.
But, on Sept 25, the TMA employees reached the compound, broke the locks of office and removed record, computers and furniture from there without any prior notice, claimed NC-II nazim Shahid Mehmood.
In an application submitted to the district nazim, Mr Mehmood said TMA inspector Khalid and sanitary inspector Fatehullah led the action aimed to occupy the office building of NC.
`The municipal workers loaded the office equipment and goods to tractor trolleys and dumped them in front of my home in Haqdad Abad,` he maintained, saying the council`s record of uplift schemes of ADP 2016-17 and banks` demand draf ts had also been missing. The NC nazim urged the district nazim to intervene and get the building vacated from TMA.
