Workers see plot against ANP chief

KARAK, Oct 31: The local workers of Awami National Party have termed allegations against the party leadership a conspiracy to damage the `Pakhtun cause`.

ANP senior workers, in a meeting held here on Thursday with district organiser Haji Ilyas in the chair, reposed full confidence in the party leadership. They lauded the services rendered by the ANP leadership for restoration of peace in the province.

They said that the row between Azam Khan Hoti and ANP leadership was a plot to defame the party. They said that those people, who were trying to weaken ANP, wanted to damage the Pakhtun cause.

The ANP workers pledged to foil any attempt by such elements. They said that ANP would continue its struggle for the prosperity of Pakhtuns under the leadership of Asfandyar Wali Khan.

The workers said that ANP would become stronger under the leadership of its incumbent chief.

PLANTATION: The president of committee of 18 villages in Nashpa, Malik Azizur Rehman, has said that poisonous gases emitted from the oil and gas dehydration plant are causing different skin and breathing diseases in the area.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he demanded of the authorities to plant saplings of trees in a large number in the area to control the diseases.

He said that according to international laws plantation should be carried out in 40 kilometres areas near the plant to decrease the dangerous effects of the gases.

Mr Rehman also said that other steps should be taken for the protection of the environment and wildlife in the area.
