I COMPLIMENT the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for initiating 356 micro hydro power projects. This is the correct approach in resolving the energy crisis. I suggest similar actions be taken by the other provinces.
It appears that mega dam projects like Bhasha and Dasu cannot be completed for at least five years. Thus the only solution remaining is micro dams generating electricity for 40 to 50 houses. Another alternative is to generate electricity on run of river (ROR) dams by utilising the tributaries.
Small hydel turbines can also be installed to generate electricity at major canals.
Collective ef forts by the provinces can overcome energy crisis by installing micro dams at suitable sites.
Tthe engineering universities located in each province can be tasked to recommend suitable sites and the expenditure can be borne by the federal government.
All hydel experts should be requested to come forward for this national cause.
