Imran Khan wants to weaken democracy, hinder uplift: Sabir

PESHAWAR/SWABI: PML-N provincial president Pir Sabir Shah on Monday alleged that PTI chief Imran Khan`s agenda was to destabilise the federal government, weaken democracy and hamper development in the country.

Mr. Shah told reporters at the Peshawar Press Club that the federal government was busy bringing about economic prosperity in the country but the PTI was trying to stop it but that would not succeed.

He said the PML-N would foil all attempts to sabotage the people`s mandate and create political instability in the country.

`Attempts have been made to create political instability and sabotage the public mandate to fulfil the agenda of the anti-state elements through invasion of the federal capital,` he said.

Accompanied by MPA Arbab Waseem and other party leaders, the PML-N provincial president said the PTI`s earlier `sit-in` in Islamabad and Raiwind had miserably failed as they`re meant to create instability and hinder the process of development and acceleration of economic growth.He said the PML-N agenda was to drive the country out of the prevailing crises. Mr. Shah said the PML-N had taken measures for development, elimination of unemployment and end to energy crisis.

He alleged that Imran Khan was becoming main player in the implementation of the agenda of antistate elements in the country.

The PML-N leader alleged that the provincial government`s machinery was used to fulfil the anti-state agenda in the country.

`The PML-N has given a chance to the PTI to form government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa respecting the public mandate. However, instead of taking steps to end themiseries of the people of KP, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and his cabinet members remained busy in Islamabad sit-ins, so they completely failed to come up to the expectations of the people,` he said.

Mr. Shah said the PML-N-led federal government had to its credit the improvement of security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas, while it also took nationalist leaders into confidence over measures to bring peace in Balochistan.

He said foreign investment had increased unprecedentedly during the last few years, while international financial institutions and financial lenders had appreciatedthe economic policies of the PML-N government.

The PML-N leader said the PTI chairman was deliberately pitting state institutions against each other but his moves would fail.

He said the people didn`t support Imran Khan`s destructive agenda.

Mr. Shah alleged that Imran Khan had committed the contempt of courts many times by disobeying their orders. He said the rule of law shouldbeenforcedinthecountryin letter and spirit.

MUQAM FLAYS PTI: PML-N senior leader Ameer Muqam on Monday flayed the PTI over politics of agitation, including Islamabad lockdown plan, and said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who wanted their development prosperity, had rejected Imran Khan`s call for Nov 2 protest.

He was addressing a public meeting here af ter inaugurating a 132KV grid station and gas project in Swabi, Mr. Muqam said by and large, the people of KP had refused to participate in Islamabad`s protest on the PTI`s call.

He said the PTI had miserably failed to deliver the goods in KP.

The PML-N leader flayed KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak for inciting the people to rebellion and said the CM should think thousand times before challenging the PML-N in KP.

`It could cost PTI heavily if the PML-N shows its strength in the province,` he said.
