Swat police recover 600 litres of liquor

SWAT: District Police Officer Shafiullah Gandapur said here on Tuesday that police conducted a raid on an illicit liquor facility, recovering 660 liters of wine.

He told a press conference that police confiscated the equipment used for making liquor, a substantial quantity of bottles and various other related items.

DSP City Amjad Khan and SHO of Mingora police station Mujeeb Alam Khanwere also present on the occasion.

The DPO said that apart from liquor, police also recovered 10 kilograms of hashish, two kilograms of heroin and 0.544 kilogram of ice. Likewise a group of mobile snatchers was also traced and arrested, he added.

He said that an operation was launched against drug mafia and criminal gangs in Swat. `During the on-going operation, our police raided an illegal and secret wine factory located in Mingora from where they recovered 660 litres of wine, wine making equipment and many bottles,` he said.

He added that the owner of factory, Rehmat Ali, and his two associates Jahanzeb and Suleman were arrested and cases were registered against them.

The DPO said that on October 29, 2023, Gohar Rehman filed a report against unidentified motorcyclists at Mingora police station for snatching mobile phone from him near vegetable market. Correspondent
