PPP celebrates passage of 26th amendment

LAHORE: The Pakistan People`s Party celebrated the passage of 26th constitutional amendment at Charing Cross on The Mall on Thursday where party workers danced to drumbeat.

Speaking to participants, Punjab PPP general secretary Syed Hasan Murtaza said the Charter of Democracy had been accomplished with the passage of the 26thamendment.

He lauded party chairperson Bilawal Bhutto for playing a leading role in the passage of the amendment.

He condemned the attack on former chief justice Qazi Faez Isa in London, terming it an attack on judiciary.

Information secretary Shehzad Cheema said through this achievement Bilawal Bhutto had demonstrated his capability to be the next prime minister.

Chaudhry Aslam Gill, Usman Malik and Jahanara Wattoo also addressed the gathering, while Samina Khalid Ghurki, Faisal Mir, Aziz Rehman Chan, Amjad Jutt, Asif Nagra, and Atif Rafiq were also present.
