PkSF extends support to Begum Nasim

Bureau Report 2013-12-01
PESHAWAR, Nov 30: Pakhtun Students Federation president Bashir Sherpao on Saturday accused the current Awami National Party leadership of damaging the party`s interests and announced to support Begum Nasim Wali Khan in efforts to strengthen the party.

During a news conference at Peshawar Press Club, the PkSF president announced to dissolve all units of the organisation and nominated provincial general secretary Riaz Marwat as the chairman of the organising committee to hold elections at different levels.

He said ANP chief Asfandyar Wali and his team had miserably failed to efficiently run the party and it was time that workers support Begum Nasim Wali for freeing the party from corrupt elements.

`PkSF has decided that Begum Nasim Wali will replace Asfandyar Wali Khan as central adviser to it, while Lawangeen Wali Khan will be the provincial adviser to it in place of Aimal Wali Khan as workers are not ready to accept Asfandyar and his son as their leaders,` he said.

Mr Bashir said Azam Hoti had leveled serious corruption allegations against Asfandyar but the latter didn`t clarify his position suggesting he was guilty and therefore, he could not be the heir of Bacha Khan and Abdul Wali Khan.

He said the current ANP leadership had produced fake memberships to name its blue-eyed people as the party`s of fice-bearers at different levels but the party`s defeat in the May 11 elections exposed them all.

The PkSF president said he would visit all districts and provinces to reorganise the organisation under the leadership of Begum Nasim Wali and Lawangeen Wali, the real leaders of Pakhtuns.

He demanded investigation against former ANP ministers and lawmakers over corruption for strict action.

Mr Bashir asked PkSF office-bearers to support Begum Nasim Wali and Lawangeen Wali during their visits to different districts.

Scores of PkSF workers and some ANP leaders were in attendance at the news conference.
