Activists celebrate PPP foundation day

PESHAWAR, Nov 30: Activists of Pakistan People`s Party and its sister organisations on Saturday celebrated the party`s 47th foundation day at district and divisional levels in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by cutting cakes and organising get-togethers.
Main function was held at the house of PPP Peshawar District President Malik Tehmash Khan in Bakhshipul area on Charsadda Road, where party leaders and activists showed up in large numbers.
However, many senior leaders absented themselves from the meeting.
Noted among those in attendance were provincial PPP President Khanzada Khan and party leaders Syed Ayub Shah, Iftikhar Jhagra, Hamayun Khan, Liaquat Shabab, Kiramatullah Chagharmatti,Ghazanfar Ali, Ashfaq Khalil, Zulfiqar Afghani, Saleem Chitrali, Anwar Khan and Akbar Khan.
The speakers, including Khanzada Khan, Hamayun Khan, Zulfiqar and Liaquat Shabab, paid rich tribute to Bhutto family and party activists for rendering great sacrifices to strengthen the party and democracy in the country.
They said PPP was the country`s largest party, which had always struggled to protect the rights of the poor people and strengthen democratic institutions in the country.
The speakers said they would continue working for the fulfillment of the mission of party`s founders.
They urged workers to shun differences and unite to strengthen the party for better performance in the com-ing local body elections.
The speakers criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-led provincial government for failing to live up to the people`s expectations.
Also in the day, a cake was cut at Peshawar University to mark the 47th PPP foundation day.
People`s Students Federation leaders Malik Amjad, Fahim Khattak, Shahzad Khan, Ali Shah, Nadeem Afridi, Hajir Wali and Arshad Bacha spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, People`s Youth Organisation organised a PPP foundation day function at Mardan Press Club.
Speakers, including Samad Khan and Ijaz Yousufzai, pledged to continue fulfilling Bhutto`s mission for the people`s welfare.
