SHOs posted MANSEHRA, Nov 30: District police officer Khuram Rashid on Saturday posted seven station house officers to different police stations to fill the posts vacated after removal of 10 SHOs and investigation officers over their links with criminals the other day.
According to posting orders, Matloob Shah was posted to Saddar police station, Raja Aftab to Pulrah police station, Javed Khan to Oghi police station, Maroof Khan to city police station, Mohammad Altaf to Lassain Nawab police station, Shahnawaz to Darband police station and Habibur Rehman to Battal police station, respectively.
A committee constituted by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IGP and headed by DPO Mansehra had removed 10 SHOs and investigation officers of various police stations of Mansehra district over their links with criminals and also referred their cases to IGP for necessary action. The newly posted SHOs were taken from a list of 26 inspectors and sup-inspectors whose past record was cleared by the committee.-Correspondent Free medical camp MINGORA, Nov 30: Over 1,600 patients, including children and women, got free treatment at a one-day medical camp organised by Pak Army at far-flung Darmai area of Matta tehsil here on Saturday.
According to an ISPR press release, the camp was held in connection with free medical treatment being provided by Pak Army to the residents of Swat, Dir and Malakand districts. Apart from doctors of Pak Army, medical specialists, gynecologists, surgeons, an eye specialist, a dentist, children and skin specialists also attended to the patients.The patients were also provided free medicines. Local residents hoped that such activities would also be organised in future.
Also in the day, Pak Amy organised a function at Parwarish school for orphans in Qamabar to distribute school bags and stationeries among students. Captain Walid Tariq of Pak Army was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed bags and stationeries among students who became orphaned during militancy in Swat.-Correspondent Women rights TIMERGARA, Nov 30: A former woman councillor hailing from Chakdara on Saturday advised women not to take part in the next local government elections until their due rights were realised.
Talking to journalists here she said she had been elected as councillor in the past, but could do nothing for people as she didn`t get funds. She said even they were not paid their remunerations. The former councillor asked Lower Dir women to participate in active politics on the condition that they would get funds and would be provided with perks and privileges like their male counterparts.
Meanwhile, the sacked employees of the Focus Grammar School Chakdara have been reinstated by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa secretary welfare board, a sacked employee told Dawn on Saturday. He said a total of 74 employees of the newly established school were terminated after the provincial government sacked labour minister Bakht Baidar Khan. He said a notification of their reinstatement was issued on Friday.-Carrespondent Inquiry against ministers MINGORA, Nov 30: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf lawmaker Saleem-ur-Rehman on Saturday said an inquiry had been underway against some provincial ministers over their alleged involvement in corruption.
During his visit to Swat Press Club here, the MNA said that PTI leadership would not compromise on corruption, adding that Imran Khan had already taken action against two ministers belonging to a coalition partner.
Mr Rehman said that the inquiry was initiated against some PTI ministers upon complaints of corruption against them. The lawmaker said that no party had taken practical steps to end drone attacks, which had been continuing for the last eleven years. He said that PTI`s struggle against drone attacks would continue till such strikes were halted.
He said that other political parties and people should support the PTI chief Imran Khan`s anti-drone campaign.
Meanwhile, the PTI lawmaker congratulated the newly elected cabinets of the Swat Press Club and Swat Union of Journalists.-Correspondent Press forum in Chitral CHITRAL, Nov 30: Devolution Trust for Community Empowerment (DTCE) on Saturday arranged a press forum at the Chitral Press Club here to highlight local issues.
The forum was informed that a teacher posted to government girls primary school in Ashrait union council five years ago attended the school only for ten days.
Fazle Elahi, a representative of Ashrait union council, said the primary school teacher had been drawing her salaries without attending the school for the last five years and that the complaints of the villagers had always fallen on deaf ears.
Lack of doctors at Garam Chashma and Drosh hospitals and non-functioning of Drosh and Golen water supply schemes were also pointed out on the occasion. DTCE field manager Roohullah Khan said that the press forums would be held periodically to provide the people with an opportunity to point out their collective issues to be highlighted in the press.-Correspondent
