RECENTLY while travelling on GT Road, I observed a number of solar panels installed on 25 feet high poles along GT road. As panels were facing south and I was travelling from Jhelum towards Lahore, I could not see theirfront.
Three days later, while returning to Jhelum, I had the chance to see the front and was disappointed to see the panels` pathetic condition which were covered with dust and soot while many of them were missing.
Who should be held responsible for this waste of the taxpayers` money? The Punjab government must direct the relative local authorities to implement a regular maintenance mechanism that ensures the solar panels smooth and trouble-free working.
