LAHORE: The Pakistan Awami Tehreek has demanded the army chief intervene and get it justice in the Model Town killings.
Through a resolution adopted at a meeting of the central executive council here on Friday presided over by Dr Tahirul Qadri, Army Chief Raheel Sharif was asked to get hold of the mastermind and facilitators of the Model Town killings and that the apex committee should refer the case for trial in a military court.
It alleged that no institution was providing justice to heirs of the Model Town victims due to unlimited powers and influence of the ruling elite, hence the armed forces should play a role in winning justice for the victims.
Dr Qadri alleged `sympathisers` of terrorists had converted the National Action Plan (NAP) into a `selection plan` and the nation was being hoodwinked by taking action against violators of the loudspeaker ban.
In an indirect reference to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi`s Raiwind visit, he allegedimportantnationaldecisions were being taken in drawing rooms instead of parliament.
Through another resolution, the party council demanded implementation of all 20 points of the NAP and their equal application in all provinces. Staff Reporter
