BATTAGRAM: Three people were killed when roof of a dilapidated house collapsed in Kocha Rangeenabad area here in the wee hours of Sunday.

Local people retrieved the bodies from the rubble and said that the house was in bad condition.

Local police identified the victims as Nisar Mohammad, 35, Muza, 55, and eight-year-old Sultan.

Meanwhile, the food department checked shops and got registered cases against retailers for overcharging and hoarding commodities.

District food controller Wazir Shah said that the team led by him also fined several shopkeepers and vendors in various markets of the main bazaar in Battagram.

He said that the team checked commodities in at least 50 shops. He said that samples of food items, including cooking oil, biscuits and spices, were also collected from the shopkeepers, which would be sent to the food testing laboratory in Peshawar.

He added that they had received results of the samples taken before this raid and cases had been registered against the guilty shopkeepers. Correspondent
