Man shot dead by `neighbours` over trifle

LAHORE: A young man was allegedly shot dead after a brawl with some neighbours in Harbanspura here on Wednesday.
A resident of Kotli Ghasi in Harbanspura, Irfan, 22, was working as caretaker of animals at the residence of Muhammad Saleem of the same area.
On Wednesday morning, four armed men on two motorcycles intercepted him outside his workplace.
They shot at and injured him critically and fled from the scene, leaving him in a pool of blood, a police official said, adding that Irfan was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The police of ficial quoted Irfan`s brother Saifullah as saying that the victim had a brawl with neighbours, including Muhammad Boota, Arshad, Babar and Janu, over a petty issue a few days back.
The matter was later resolved on the interference of elders from both sides, the official said.
The suspects, however, nourished a grudge against Irfan and allegedly killed him, he further said while quoting Saifullah.
Police sent the body to morgue for autopsy and lodged a murder case nominating the four suspects.
