LAHORE: Thieves tool< away cash, Saudi currency and jewellery all worth over Rs3m from a trader`s house in C-1 Block of the Nespak Housing Society near Ghazi Chowk on Sunday.

Muhammad Saleem Javed, a cloth trader, told Sattokatla police that he had gone to attend a marriage ceremony along with his family in the evening and returned to find their house burgled and Rs1.5m cash, 10,000 Riyals and 26-tolas of gold ornaments missing.

Sadar SP (Operations) Zahid Nawaz Marwat said the incident took place at the house which was hardly 200 yards away from the security check post. He said police had obtained statements of the family about maids and taken fingerprints from the house.

ROBBERY: Three robbers broke into the house of Mian Azhar in F-Block in the North Cantonment police limits and took away cash, jewellery and a laptop all worth Rs0.7m.
