ISLAMABAD: A senior journalist and broadcaster Shahid Hashmi died on Tuesday in London.

He was 85.

He was the f ather of Faraz Hashmi, former correspondent of Dawn.

He will be buried in London.

Shahid Hashmi`s Qul will be held on Feb 3 in Islamabad at the residence of his brother late Ashraf Hashmi at H. No.

273, St. 75, G-9/3, after Asr prayers.

Mr Hashmi was also the uncle of Dawn reporter Syed Irfan Raza, Shahzad Raza and Shamoon Hashmi.
