Cash, valuables worth Rs2O million looted in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Culprits looted cash and valuables worth over Rs20million from different places including a house, police said on Saturday.
In the first incident, a gang of robbers looted cash and valuables worth over Rs12.8million from the house of Qazi Safir Hussain Hashmi in Shah Allahdita. Two persons armed with weapons entered the house after breaking the door open. They held the residents at gunpoint and looted 16 tolas gold worth Rs3.7million, including 55 gold rings from a jewelry box, and two earrings from the ear of Mr Hashmi`s mother after cutting them with nail cutter.
Besides, they also looted four mobile phone and a wrist watch and got Rs35,000 transferred to a bank account from the bank account of Mr hashmi and escaped.
In another incident, a group of six armed persons looted cash and a vehicle from Azeem Khan in 1-14.
Azeem Khan came to Islamabad from Peshawar to attend a marriage ceremony and the incident took place when he was returning in a car after attending the ceremony. Six persons riding on three motorcycles and armed with weapons intercepted him in 1-14 and attacked him, besides trying to abduct him.
They beat him and as a result he sustained critical injuries and fell semi-unconscious on road. Later, the culprits took car keys from him and also looted Rs3OO,000 from the dashboard of the vehicle.
Later, they escaped along with the the looted items, including the vehicle.
Moreover, a gang of three robbers looted Rs800,000 from an egg godown in Chistiyabad.
Three persons armed with weapons entered the godown owned by Raja Mohammad Sher and held him up at gunpoint along with his staff.
Later, the gunmen looted Rs800,000 from the godown and escaped.
