TAXILA: Attock police Saturday arrested four alleged drug peddlers and recovered four kilograms of contraband.

According to a spokesperson for the police, the New Airport police arrested a female member of an intercity racket of alleged drugpeddlers and recovered hashish and ice from her possession.

Separately, the Attock Khurd police foiled a bid to smuggle heroin from KP to Punjab and arrested a purported drug smuggler.

According to police sources, a Rawalpindi-bound passenger van coming from Peshawar was stopped within the limits of the Attock Khurd police station, and during a search, police recovered 1.40 kilograms of heroin from a suspect.

During an interrogation, he allegedly confessed to being a member of an interprovincial gang of drug smugglers. The Hassanabdal police recovered 1.54 kilograms of hashish from another suspect during a raid at his den.

Moreover, Attock City police arrested a man and recovered 1.4 kilograms of hashish from his possession.

Separate cases were registered against the suspects and further investigations were started, the police said.
