MUZAFFARABAD: Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, the emir of Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan, will address a rally here on Sunday in connection with the upcoming Kashmir Solidarity Day.

It will mark his first public appearance in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) since his elevation to the religio-political party`s top office in April last year.

The `Kashmir March` is being organised by JI AJK and will be held on a major intersection outside the district headquarters complex, commonly known as Burhan Wani Chowk.

JI AJK spokesperson Raja Zakir claimed that it would be the largest march in the region`s history. He said the event would also feature speeches by AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, JI AJK emir Dr Mohammad Mushtaq and leaders from various political parties.

`Hafiz Naeemur Rehman will not only convey the message of solidarity on behalf of the 250 million people of Pakistan to the struggling people of Kashmir but also announce the future course of action for the Kashmir freedom movement,` Mr Zakir said. Staff Correspondent
