`Save the children`

2012-03-02
I AM indeed shocked to read the report of `Save the Children` that 450 million children all over the world and particularly underdeveloped countries will be physically and mentally stunted over the next 15 years, mainly due to malnutrition.

The report says that every hour 300 children die due to lack of nutrients.

The problem of malnutrition is volatile due to the steep rise in food prices, climatic changes, etc.

As a measure to help, let us begin with having simple wedding ceremonies and preferably `one-dish dinners`. Besides, we should also cut down on the number of superfluous ceremonies like uptan, mehndi, etc.

We must save the expenses on food items and donate the money to those in need.
