Drug prices

2016-03-02
AN evil nexus has been formed between the health ministry and more than 700 pharmaceutical companies of Pakistan, resulting in an unprecedented and exorbitant increase in the prices of medicines. There is no justification at all for increasing the prices of medicines from 3pc to 65pc.

On the contrary, in India drug prices were decreased by 4pc last year. In Iran the prices are stable. Similarly, in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh only 1.4pc increment in prices of medicines has been witnessed.

The government has ignored democratic norms. Is it providing healthcare, education and security to the people of Pakistan? Hussain Thebo Karachi
