Rise of suicide

2016-03-02
LATELY the news of a young boy taking his life in a local school in Peshawar was the headline of most of the big media houses.

Appallingly, not one of them drew the attention of society to probing the underlying cause of the ever-increasing ratio ofsuicidesinPakistan.

There are hundreds of people in Pakistan who attempt suicide every day. Some of them succeed in doing so, while the rest of them are rescued. But does any parent or a close family member have the courage to seek psychological help for his child due towhich he attempted to commit suicide.

In my opinion, the one who has the courage to end his life has the courage to live, rise, challenge and get challenged.

Parents and sufferers themselves have to break the taboo of seeking psychological and therapeutic help. Otherwise, suicide cannot be stopped.
