RAWALPINDI: A six-year-old boy was kidnapped from outside his home in Mandra on Monday, police said.

The boy, a pre-school student, was playing with his friends when some persons 1(idnapped him.

Father of the kidnapped boy told the police that when he came to know that his son had gone missing, he along with his family members launched a search for him.

He said while they were searching for his son, the kidnappers contacted his elder brother on his cellphone and informed him that his nephew was in their captivity.

He said the caller told his brother to wait for another call as he would inform him about the ransom money.

Police investigating officer told Dawn that he was not aware of the ransom money demanded by the kidnappers holding the boy as his parents were negotiating with kidnappers.

He said the police were searching the boy and investigating different people in this connection.
