Law enforcers to be alert in Punjab during match

LAHORE: The Punjab governmenthas directedlaw-enforcers to remain alert across the province during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final so that terrorists may not take advantage of the security agencies` focus on the cricket tie`s venue -Q adhafi Stadium.
The direction was issued after a meeting of the Cabinet Committeeon Law and Order held here on Wednesday chaired by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
`There must be foolproof security in Lahore as well as other cities of province. Every step should be taken to shatter the bad intentions of enemies who want to destabilise the country,` the chief minister was quoted as saying.
The meeting decided that extra security measures should be taken for the security of mosques, churches, Imam Bargahs and other worship places.
The chief minister, who had spoken to the army chief by phone earlier in day, said it was the desire of the whole nation that thePSL mega event should be held in Lahore and `we have full support and consultation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa for the event.
He said holding of the PSL final in Lahore was `an honor for all of us and we all need to play our part and make arrangements for the success of the event with collective ef forts.
`It is a matter of honor for Pakistan and we will never let it down.
The meeting decided to provide free shuttle bus service for spectators coming to watch the final live in the stadium. The shuttle bus will run between the parking lotsspecified for the ticket-holders up to the stadium gate.
He ordered alternative traffic routes for the public to spare them any inconvenience and directed the concerned authorities to work in close collaboration with each other and ensure marvelous arrangements.
He directed the Cabinet Committee to review all the arrangements regularly and vowed to evaluate them personally too.
The chief minister also sought the best-possible sanitation measures in and outside the stadium and uninterrupted power supply at entry and exit points. He alsoordered decoration of the whole city, particularly illuminations along the routes leading to the stadium.
The home secretary and Lahore commissioner briefed the meeting about security and other necessary arrangements.
Provincial ministers Rana Sanaullah, Rana Mashood, Ayub Gadhi, Raza Ali Gillani, Jahangir Khanzada, advisor Rana Maqbool Ahmed, special assistant Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan, chief secretary, IG police, senior of ficials of civil, military and law enforcing agencies and secretaries of other concerned departments attended the meeting.
