Lower staff of Malakand varsity to be promoted soon: VC

TIMERGARA: The employees of University of Malakand working in low grades would be promoted soon, said Prof Rehmat Ali, the newly posted vice-chancellor of the university.
Addressing a welcome party hosted by lower staff of UoM on the main campus, he said that recommendation for regularisation of the ad hoc employees would be forwarded to the syndicate.
Prof Rehmat said the issues of lower staff like their upgradation, house allowance and `no objection certificate` for higher education would be addressed asper rules and regulations.
Earlier, Ashfaqur Rehman presented a charter of demands to the newly posted vice-chancellor.
He demanded regularisation of the contract employees, promotion for permanent ones and provision of no objection certificate to them for getting higher education. He also demanded provision of house allowance to lower staff of the university.
Later, the vice-chancellor also inaugurated construction work on boundary wall of the university and directed the construction company to ensure quality work.
COUNCIL: The members of Adeznai tehsil council on Wednesday said that gov-ernment departments were not working properly owing to which local residents f aced hardships.
Addressing the session of the council, held in Chakdara with tehsil naib nazim Mudat Khan in the chair, they said that male doctors were conducting ultrasound of women patients at Chakdara hospital.
The session was addressed by tehsil nazim Qamar Zaman, Abdul Salam, Tauseef Umar, Imtiaz Khan and Yaqub Maseeh. They said that there was no female photographer at the local Nadra office.
The councillors complained that power consumers had to collect donation to repair f aulty transformers.
The officials of education, health, publichealth, Nadra, communication and works, social welfare and wild life departments were present on the occasion.
They said that high ups of their respective departments would be informed about the issues.
VISIT: Deputy Commissioner Attaur Rehman paid a surprise visit to different markets in the city along with Assistant Commissioner Ubaidullah Khattak, Timergara tehsil nazim Riaz Mohammad, TMO Attaullah Khan and district councillor Alamzeb.
The deputy commissioner directed the officials concerned to remove all roadside encroachments, observe cleanliness and make a plan for smooth traffic.
