One dies, six injured in accidents

TOBA TEK SINGH: A man and six persons were injured in two accidents in the district on Sunday.
Rescue 1122 reported that Rana Muhammad Younas, Tanveer Ahmad and Muhammad Boota, all residents of Chak 518/GB, were on their way on a motorcycle on TobaGojra road when a car coming from opposite direction hit their motorcycle near Chak 288/JB railway crossing. As a result, all three of them were injured. They were being shifted to the district headquarters hospital when Rana Muhammad Younas succumbed to injuries. The other two were admitted to the hospitalincriticalcondition.In another incident, four members of a family of Jhang were injured seriously when their car overturned due to speeding near Toba-Jhang bypass road. They were identified as Abdul Shakoor, his wife Attiya Shakoor, Naziran and Shamim Akhtar. They were shifted to the DHQ hospital.
DEMAND: The representatives of Union Council 56 demanded the federal water and power minister to direct Faisalabad Electricity Supply Company (Fesco) to implement the order of the Wapda high-ups to separate 11 villages of Toba Tel( Singh district from Jhang Fesco division and attach them with Toba Tek Singh division for power supply.
Addressing a press conference with dozens of farmers of his area atthe press club, Mian Arshad Jamil, the former nazim of the UC, claimed that 11 chaks of Chuttiana area, including Chak 400/JB, 401/JB, 402/ JB, 403/JB, 405/JB, 407/JB, 408/JB, 409/JB, 410/JB, 411/JB and 305/GB, were being supplied electricity from Shorkot FESCO sub-division`s Haveli Bahadur Shah feeder throughalengthylinesthatresulted in low voltages for the villages. As a result, thousands of residents of these villages were unable to use their electric appliances.
Mr Jamil said the residents were forced to fetch water from other areas for drinking. They demanded the minister to separate the 11 villages from Jhang division and to supply them power from their nearest Chuttiana feeder to resolve their issue.
