LONDON: Thanks to the humanity of Mr Liaquat Ali Khan, Pakistan`s Prime Minister, a nun dying following an attack on her Convent by tribesmen in Kashmir may achieve her last wish to see Paris once more.
She is at present on the last lap from Cairo, airborne from Karachi.
Six people were killed and the Mother Superior, Aldetrude de Kaiser, was injured when the tribesmen attacked the Convent in Baramula last October. Lying in a Rawalpindi hospital, she longed to see Paris before her death. Sir Francis Mudie, West Pakistan Governor, offered to send her himself and a PRAF Dakota took her to Karachi. Here, Mr Liaquat Ali Khan insisted it was a matter for Pakistan and made all arrangements. Her plane, which reaches Marseilles today [March 1] is flying as low as safety regulations permit, because it is feared her heart will not stand the height normally attained.
In Paris, an ambulance with large windows is waiting to take her on a tour of the streets she last saw 20 years ago. The journey will cost £200 `cheap at the price` in the words of one Pakistani official. News agencies
