TOBA TEK SINGH: A man allegedly killed himself after a boy was found killed in his house in Chak Meernaywala in Jhang, the Garh Maharaja police said.

The police said Nawabul Hasan, 14, went out of his house in the morning and did not return till the afternoon.

Boy`s father Ijaz Hussain Chadhar learned that his son was seen entering the house of Manzoor Khokhar.

He along with scores of villagers went to his house but he claimed unawareness of the boy.

Later, they broke the locks of a room in the house and found the bullet-ridden body of the boy there.

The people tried to pin him, but Ijaz locked himself in a room and shot himself dead.

DROWNS: A minor son of farmer Waris Ali of Gojra Chak 430-JB drowned in the canal.

Three-year-old Gulfam was playing on the bank of the canal near his house when he fell into the canal and drowned.

The body was found after two hours.

PROTEST: Scores of shopkeepers of Gojra staged on Wednesday a protest at Malkanwala Chowk against the 750 per cent increase in signboard tax, shade taxand water tax by the municipal committee (MC).

They told reportersthat on their appeal, the local government secretary had directed the MC to consult traders and stop contractors from colleeting tax.

They added that after two months, the contractor started collecting the tax.

MC Chief Officer Tausifur Rehman held talks with the protestors and assured them of resolving the problem.

SEMINAR: An awareness seminar on mental health and transmission of diseases from generation to generation was organised on Wednesday by the GCUF Department of Psychology and the Higher Education Commission.

The aim of the seminar was to provide awareness about increasing mental depression, suicide factors and intergenerational transmission of mental diseases.

TRADER INJURED: Two robbers shot at and injured a Tata Bazaar cloth market trader and took away Rs2.5 million in cash at Faisalabad near Kohinoor Chowk on Jarranwala Road on Wednesday evening.

Sheikh Ali Imran was going on a motorcycle after withdrawing cash from a bank when two gunmen also on a twowheeler intercepted him and injured him on resistance.

They snatched the cash bag from him and fled.The injured trader was admitted to the DHQ Hospital.
