Three drug peddlers among six arrested in Lakki

LAKKI MARWAT: Police claimed to have arrested six suspects including three drug peddlers in different areas of Lakki Marwat on Wednesday.

An official said that more than two kilograms of hashish were recovered from three drug smugglers. They were included as Johgar Ali, Amir Ayaz and Shahid Wali.

He said that the law enforcers also arrested three suspects including Ihsanullah, Afaq and Irfanullah and recovered an AK-47 assault rifle, a pistol and ammunition from them. Police shifted the arrested men to relevant police stations and registered cases against them.

Meanwhile, DPO Ashfaq paid a surprise visit to Shaheed Haibat Ali Khan police station in Darra Pezu town and checked security arrangements and presence of officials.

He conducted the security audit of the police station and issued instructions to the SHO to improve the situation. He directed policemen to wear bulletproof jackets during duty hours and implement standard operating procedure in letter and spirit.The DPO also met locals and inquired from them about the performance and attitude of policemen posted there. He asked the relevant officials to dispose of public complaints on a daily basis and provide maximum relief to people.

CASE: Bannu police claimed to have solved a blind murder case and arrested the killer during a raid on Wednesday.

An official said that on Feb 18, Mohammad Khalil Khan, 32, was shot dead in Pirbakhel Jhandokhel area of Bannu. He said that Turab Khan, a brother of the deceased, told police an unidentified man killed his brother with a firearm and escaped.

He said that police experts with the help of modern technology and informers traced the man involved in the heinous crime. He said that a police party raided a hideout and arrested the man identified as Junaid with a pistol used in the crime.

He said that police also seized two mobile phones from the alleged killer and shifted him to the police station.

`The arrested man told police during initial interrogation that he murdered Khalil over a petty dispute,` said the official.
