PR police recruitment: two impersonators held

LAHORE: Railway police arrested two impersonators attempting to take recruitment tests on behalf of candidates for department openings on Saturday.
According to a spokesman for the Pakistan Railways Police, candidates were undergoing physical measurement tests at Sagheer Railways Police Lines when two suspects were caught taking the test in place of others for ASI and constable posts.
Saad Ali was found appearing on behalf of candidate Ansar in the ASI physical exam, while Abrar attempted to take the test for Owais. Saad claimed to be the original candidate`s relative, while Abrar identified himself as a friend.
Both suspects were arrested, and a case was registered at the Railways Police Station Mughalpura Workshops.
Recruitment for 500 vacancies in the Railways Police is underway across the country. So far, eight impersonators have been arrested during the physical examination process.
PRICE LIST: The City DistrictAdministration on Saturday notified the prices of essential commodities for Ramazan.
According to the notification, fine gram pulse (daal chana) will be sold at Rs270 per kg, special thick gram lentil at Rs285, imported washed daal mash at Rs440, and unwashed daal mash at Rs410. Local thick black channa is priced at Rs270, fine local black channa at Rs260, while besan will cost Rs290 per kg.
Roti will be sold at Rs14, milk at Rs170 per litre, super basmati rice at Rs250, imported thick masoor pulse at Rs260, unwashed moong pulse at Rs385, and thick white channa at Rs310 per kg.
TREE PLANTATION: A tree plantation campaign has been launched at the Ravi River bank under the `Lungs of Lahore` project.
The initiative is a joint effort of the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), Al-Khidmat Foundation, and the University of Central Punjab (UCP). Hundreds of students and volunteersplanted trees.
Teams planted native spe cies such as jamun, mango, banyan, neem and sukh chain, which are well-suited to Punjab`s climate.
