Young entrepreneurs asked to transform ideas into startups

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Book Circle, an initiative of young book-lovers, arranged its 48th monthly study debate at National Incubation Centre in Board Bazaar here on Friday, and urged the young entrepreneurs to equip themselves with essential tools and strategies to transform their ideas into thriving startups.

Bibliophiles and emerging entrepreneurs showed up at the event to know about the strategies for launching startups in the online business and brand marketing as most university graduates are seeking self-employment and profitable usage of social media.

A book titled `Sprint` authored by Jake Knapp was brought under discussion, which offered practical and actionable guide for teams looking to solve big problems and test new ideas. Over 50 young entrepreneurs participated in the debate and shared their insights on various aspects of the bestselling title, introducing the concept of five-day process for solving big problems and testing new ideas.

The participants were informed that by following Sprint`s five-day timeline they could collaborate, innovate and make progress on complex challenges as it could also create a sense of urgency, focus and help team members stay on track and take decisions quickly.

Shafeeg Giyani, chief of the initiative, spoke at length on the crucial five steps of the startups success, including ideation, market research, business model development, validation and pitching, arguing that the effective use of real world examples could validate ideasbeforeinvestingresources.

The panelists, however, emphasised the strategic planning, market adaptability and resilience in the fast emerging startup world, fostering an environment with buzzing curiosity and creativity.

The author of the book, Sprint, also advised entrepreneurs not to get too attached to their ideas, instead they should be willing to iterate, pivot or even abandon their ideas based on the user feedback and testing results.

Hamza Khan, a young expert, stated that the Sprint five-day process was flexible and adaptable as it provided the entrepreneurs with a practical and effective approach to solve big problems and testing ideas.
