PESHAWAR: Vice Chancellor of Khyber Medical University Professor Dr Ziaul Haq on Friday assumed additional charge as vice chancellor of Islamia College University, Peshawar, according to a notification issued by the higher education department.

He assumed the additional charge in the presence of the university`s registrar, Daud Zahid.

After assuming charge, Prof Zia met with senior officials of Islamia College University, including the registrar, Prof Dr Arbab Safeer Ahmad (director of material sciences), and lecturer Falak Niaz (department of English). During the meeting, he expressed his commitment to fulfil the trust placed in him by the provincial government.

He said his primary challenge would be to put Islamia College University on a path of self-reliance and financial independence.

He further emphasised that his top priority would be the promotion of e-governance through comprehensive computerisation, which would include e-classrooms, digitised examination system, and paperless administrative, accounting, and auditing processes in line with the modern e-system. Bureau Report
