Traders to help police ease traffic mess in Timergara bazaar

TIMERGARA: The local traders` body and the police on Wednesday agreed to jointly initiate efforts to ease traffic mess in the Timergara Bazaar here.

A decision to this effect was made at a meeting attended among others by DSP headquarters Hageeg Hussain, DSP circle Tahir Zaman, in-charge traffic police Hazrat Hussain, A n j a m a n -i-Ta ja r a n, Timergara, president Haji Anwaruddin and general secretary Liaq Zada.

The police officials noted that the problem of traffic jams in the city couldn`t be addressed without the cooperation of business community. The meeting also discussed the traffic plan for Timergara which was announced by the district administration a few days ago.

DSP Hageeg Hussain stressed upon the traders to remove all kinds of illegal encroachments along the roadsides on their own. He said that local administration, traffic police and businessmen should jointly remove all illegal bus stands and car parking lots to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

The traders` body president Haji Anwaruddin said the shopkeepers would fully cooperate with police and local administration in implementing the traffic plan.

He said traffic police cops should be deployed at the Timergara general bus stand to ensure smooth traffic flow.

SCHOOL SECURITY SYST EM: About 600 government primary, middle and secondary schools in the district have been provided with a special security software to be able to immediately inform police and other security agencies in case of any security threat.

A handout issued by the district police office here on Wednesday, said that it was police responsibility to protect lives of students and provide them with modern security tools.

About 127 state-run schools have been provided with `Save Our Souls` alert one-click system on cell phone to be used during times of emergencies.

The process of linking of schools to the new security system is underway and more schools would be registered, said the handout.

The district administration and education department in this regard have already asked management of schools to install CCTV cameras, raise boundary walls and equip the watchmen with arms.
