Protest camp plan intact: Kaira

2017-05-02
LAHORE: The Pakistan People`s Pany has announced that its May 4 protest camp plan is very much intact though the provincial metropolis administration is reluctant to give a go-ahead for it.

`The protest camp will be set up on Minar-i-Pakistan lawns on May 4 at all costs, the pany`s central Punjab president Qamar Zaman Kaira told reporters at a reception here on Monday.

He said it would be an organisational sitting of the party and not a public meeting so there would be no security issue. Public meeting, if any, he said, would be held under the pany chief, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.

He argued that all should be equal before the law and if Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif could set up a camp at a place (Minar-iPakistan) back in 2013 to protest against loadshedding, the PPP should also be allowed to follow the suit.

At the camp, he said, the party would give a province-wide protest strategy. wondering that record of all mega projects executed by the Sharifs got burnt in mysterious circumstances, he warned the institutions concerned as documents pertaining to News Leak could also be gutted.-Staff Reporter
