50pc of district courts` staff to work from home

LAHORE: In the wake of the third wave of Covid-19, the Lahore High Court has decided that 50 per cent of judges and staff of the district judiciary in Punjab will work from home in two batches.

A notification issued by the directorate of district judiciary states that the first batch of the 50 per cent staff, including the judicial officers, would work from home from May 3 to 8 while the second batch would work from May 17 to 22.

The first batch would resume duty on May 10 and the second batch on May 24.

The female judicial officers shall work from home in percentage of 50 in the first and second batch each.

The district and sessions judges would form the batches of the staff in their relevant districts.

Several cases of Covid-19 have been reported among the judges and the staff of the district judiciary in the province.
