NEW DELHI: Pandit Nehru, Prime Minister, at a Press conference here today [May 1], declared that India proposed to carry on the Kashmir war `as effectively, efficiently and rapidly as possible, till we drive out the last raider from Kashmir`. ...[He] said that the Kashmir problem could be resolved only in two ways, either by warfare which India was carrying on or by other methods of settlement. ... The Prime Minister said India was always prepared to negotiate with Pakistan `when there is a reasonable chance to reasonably end those negotiations, but at the present moment there is no such chance`.

[Meanwhile, as reported from London by news agencies,] Visitors at a private [viewing] today [April 30] of the British Royal Academy of Arts were disappointed to find that three paintings by Parliamentary Opposition Leader, Winston Churchill, were not for sale. Mr Churchill has been permitted to show three pictures the maximum allowed to a non-member of the Academy... .
