SHANGLA: The administration has directed Peshawar Electric Supply Company officials to register cases against the people, who are involved in power theft.

In this connection a meeting of local government representatives, elders and Pesco officials was held at Bisham tehsil office here on Thursday with Assistant Commissioner Javed Iqbal in the chair.

The meeting was called in the backdrop of attack on grid station by local people.

`We want to streamline system of Pesco. We will support Pesco but it would be better to give a chance to the illegal users of electricity so that they can apply for meter,` said Sherin Zada Khan, member of district council.

Hamayun Khan, a local elder, suggested full-fledged action against power thieves. SDO Mohammad Ali told the meeting that he submitted more than 200 complaints with police against power thieves but a single case was not registered against anyone.
