Eight injured in gas leak blast

PESHAWAR: At least eight people, including two women, were injured in a blast caused by gas leak at a clinic in Bhanamari area of the city on Friday, police said.

DSP suburbs Fazl Wahid Khan said the blast took place at a clinic located on the backside of a medical centre, adding the bomb disposal unit ascertained the cause of the blast as gas leakage.

Mr Wahid said three people, including two women, sustained burns, while five others were injured from glass splinters.

The injured were taken to the Lady Reading Hospital.

Separately, Chamkani police booked two people for lobbing grenade on a house in Wahid Abad locality.

A police official told Dawn that the incident was apparently result of a dispute involving women, and that they had registered an FIR against two people on the complaint of the house owner, Masum Nabi.
